The New York Times has faced substantial scrutiny in recent years. From their smearing of conservatives to their attacks on President Trump, it is self-evident that the NYT has a distinctly leftist bent. Perhaps that’s why the publication has a penchant for hiring racist employees who like to share their bigotry over Twitter? For at least the third time in just two years, the NYT finds itself in hot water thanks to a publicly racist employee.
For a publication that purportedly prides itself on being at the helm of liberal reporting, the NYT sure seems to hire a lot of hateful people. In 2018, there was a massive backlash over the hiring of anti-white editor Sarah Jeong. Now, the NYT is facing even more criticism after not one but two employees have a history of sharing antisemitic and racist statements over social media.
Breitbart News recently made an inquiry to the NYT about the racist and antisemitic comments one of their political editors made on Twitter. Senior editor Tom Wright-Piersanti was recently exposed as a racist, antisemitic bigot after a series of hateful tweets were revisited.
The “Crappy Jew Year” tweet has received tremendous backlash, but as Breitbart and most of rational Twitter contends, it seems unlikely that the NYT will give Wright-Piersanti anything more than a slap on the wrist.
Zionist Organization of American president Mort Klein has called on the NYT to fire Wright-Piersanti immediately, and has said that the paper should also launch an internal review of their hiring practices. Klein told Breitbart that the NYT has “been biased against and hostile to the Jewish state of Israel” for decades and that if Wright-Piersanti had made derogatory remarks about another ethnic or religious group, he’d be punished immediately.
Earlier this year, NYT deputy editor Johnathan Weisman was demoted for a series of confusing but racist tweets. Regardless of how you feel about certain politicians, the color of their skin shouldn’t matter when it comes to judging how well they represent their constituents. Diversity of thought is the only kind of diversity that really matters — and yet, it is the kind of diversity that liberals seem to tolerate the least. Whether or not the leaders at NYT have the mental plasticity to understand that antisemitism and racism are two cards of the same suit remains to be seen.
In response to public outcry, Wright-Piersanti issued a non-apology over Twitter in which he stated, “I have deleted the tweets from a decade ago that are offensive. I am deeply sorry.”
The NYT editor has gotten a showing of support from his fellow leftists, with many people denigrating conservatives for dredging up 10-year-old tweets.
Let’s put this in perspective: Multiple NYT editors have put out completely unprompted racist, hateful tweets. Wright-Piersanti and his “Crappy Jew Year” are just the tip of the iceberg. Last year, Sarah Jeong was under fire for saying all white people are “goblins” that “smell like wet dog” and should be forced to live underground.
These are hateful, seemingly unprompted comments — but more importantly, they are baseless insults. In spite of this, the Left refuses to condemn these bigots as racists. Instead, they are given a pass because “reasons.”
Conversely, we have seen a number of conservatives be attacked and maligned as “racists” for citing evidence-based, statistical data or for asserting their religious freedoms. In July, Miss Michigan competition winner Kathy Zhu was stripped of her title just one day after the pageant — because Zhu had made tweets about not wanting to be forced to try on a hijab at school and for sharing “insensitive” but accurate statistics on social media.
It is obvious that the Left (and the New York Times) does not actually care about racism — they just care about appearances. See more coverage of liberal lunacy at Libtards.news.
